People you would like to thank: There are so many people who have
helped me pursue my powerlifting dream, it’s hard to name just a few.
So, here’s a not so short “short list”: Titan Support Systems for
great powerlifting gear; Kris Drake Photography for fabulous photos;
Fran Huston and Lisa Marvin who train with me on a regular basis; Jane
and Aaron Welborn, Gary Edwards, Angela Simons, Shawn Cain, and Lance
Karabel for helping with my training; Greg Page who has been a tireless
supporter since my first national meet; Alex Galant, Robb Grisham, and
the entire Denver crew for making Denver feel like a second home to me;
my Mom, Kate Shuttleworth, for always being there to listen; my Dad, Red
Shuttleworth, who demands that his children go full tilt towards their
dreams, for teaching me the value of athletics, a strong work ethic, and
competitive drive; my sisters, Ciara and Jessi, for always supporting me
and being inspiring in how they pursue their dreams; my brother, Luke,
who might still be able to bench more than me; my Nana, Anna Napoli, for
always being supportive; a ton of family friends who helped me get to
the 2006 IPF Bench Press Worlds in Milskolc, Hungary; all of my
co-workers at the Washington County Attorney’s Office for being so
supportive, especially Meredeth Magers, my biggest cheerleader in the
whole world, and Julie Mougin, who makes me laugh and confiscates my
change when I want to buy chocolate; and last but definitely not least
my fabulous girlfriends who still go out with me when I’m
cutting weight and can’t eat dessert, especially Angi Montgomery
Montez, the best friend a girl could ask for.
